Driven by the demands of a growing student population, the upgrade involved re-modeling the existing canteen shell and expanding into the adjacent undercroft.
The refurbished preparation area and self-serve cafeteria style facility is designed to maximise food production within limited service times. The kitchen boasts commercial grade appliances and custom made stainless steel furniture equipped to store a quantity of ready-to-serve meals.
Specifically planned queues contained behind perforated screens and defined by bespoke cabinetwork promote efficient circulation, imparting choice and responsibility to students. The interior and exterior palette inspired by the origin of natural foods create interest at the heart of the campus quadrangle.
